Bonfire sends payouts via PayPal. Requested payouts are sent 2-8 business days after your successful campaign batch has ended. For campaigns set to Print on Demand, those payouts will be available to request the following business day after an order is placed.
If you have tips or donations enabled, those will be included on the payout as well.
You can view and request payouts in your Account Dashboard. Navigate to the payouts section and select the “Available” tab:
If a single payout is over $10,000, your payout cannot be transferred to PayPal for security/risk measures. Please contact our support team to update the payout method to a check.
Are There Payout Fees?
Bonfire covers all the fees associated with your payouts. The only fee Bonfire will ever collect is an 8% processing fee on additional contributions. See Pricing and Fees for more information.
The payout amount displayed in your Dashboard on Bonfire will always equal the amount that shows up in your PayPal account. If there are multiple payouts available PayPal will combine them in the requested payout.
Giving Campaign Payouts
If you’ve selected to fundraise for an Organization through a Giving Campaign, the status of payouts benefiting the organization can be viewed from the Payouts tab in your Account Dashboard. From there, select “For an organization” to view the amount raised & payout status.
Do Payouts work differently for Nonprofit Organizations?
The payout process for verified Nonprofits is identical.
However, all of your processing fees are reduced from 8% to 3.5%.
Organizations can view and request payouts in your Account Dashboard. You will be able to see payouts from Campaigns created and owned by your organization, as well as payouts from Giving Campaigns who have chosen to fundraise for your organization.
Verified Nonprofit Organizations may request their payout be sent by check. Bonfire sends checks through USPS which may take around 15 business days to arrive. Please contact our support team to update the payout method to a check.
