What information is available to sellers and how information is protected

At Bonfire, we take the privacy of all who use our platform seriously. During checkout, buyers are required to select whether they consent, or not, to share their information with the seller of that campaign.

What Information is Shared?

If the buyer doesn't consent to sharing their full information, the seller gets access to the following information in their report:

  • Campaign Name

  • Batch Number

  • First name & last name initial

  • Phone Number

  • Timestamp (when the order was placed)

  • Amount Total

  • Seller Profit (Amount Total minus base costs, promotion costs, shipping, and taxes)

  • Product base costs

  • Promotion costs (shows the discount taken out of the proceeds/profits by a promotion code)

  • Total Donation/Tips

  • Net Donation/Tips (total amount of donations/tips seller receives after transaction fees)

  • Shipping fees

  • Tax paid (amount of sales tax paid for the order that might vary by the state)

If the buyer consents, sellers will receive additional information, such as:

  • Full name

  • Email

  • Shipping Address

Data Collection for Nonprofits

To facilitate donor lists, databases, and comply with federal tax obligations, upon request we provide verified nonprofits buyer contact information. This is made aware to buyers at checkout.

In order to complete their order, buyers purchasing from a nonprofit are required to consent to sharing their information. Nonprofits will receive the following information in their reports:

  • Campaign Name

  • Batch Number

  • User Name (supporter's full name)

  • User Email (supporter's email)

  • Shipping Address

  • Phone Number

  • Timestamp (when the order was placed)

  • Amount Total

  • Seller Profit (Amount Total minus base costs, promotion costs, shipping, and taxes)

  • Product base costs

  • Promotion costs (shows the discount taken out of the proceeds/profits by a promotion code)

  • Total Donation/Tips

  • Net Donation/Tips (total amount of donations the nonprofit receives after transaction fees)

  • Shipping fees

  • Tax paid (amount of sales tax paid for the order that might vary by the state)

Political Campaigns

Buyers purchasing from a Political campaign will be required to consent to sharing their information in order to complete their order.

Sellers with verified political campaigns have access to the following information in addition to all the items above:

  • Occupation

  • Employer

How to View Buyer Information

To view a list of your buyers’ names, navigate to the campaigns section of your Dashboard. Select the relevant campaign, choose a batch or an all-time view, and scroll to the Recent sales section to view a list of your buyers.
