Bonfire Pro lets you sell products you already have on hand, like items you printed or made yourself, alongside your print-on-demand products. You ship these orders yourself. With our Shippo integration, you can buy discounted shipping labels right from your Bonfire dashboard.
What is a self-fulfilled product?
A self-fulfilled product is an item you store and ship yourself, such as merch printed by another vendor, handmade goods, or leftover stock. Bonfire lists it in your store, takes the payment and keeps track of your inventory. You pack and ship the order.
In your Products list, self-fulfilled products are labeled Inventory and print-on-demand products are labeled On demand.

Add a self-fulfilled product
Go to Products and click Add product.
Choose Sell something I have ("Ship orders yourself & track inventory").
Enter a name for your product and continue.
Fill in each section of the product editor. The Product checklist on the right shows what's left to do.
Click Save. When the checklist is complete, you'll see Ready to publish. Click Make active to add the product to your store.

Here’s a quick breakdown of everything you can customize when setting up your product.
ABOUT
Name and Description (the description is optional).
+ Product details: extra information such as materials, size or fit.
+ Shipping & returns: your shipping timelines and return policy, for example "Ships within 30 days of purchase" or "Custom items can't be returned." Customers see this on the product page.
COLLECTIONS
Every product is added to All Products automatically. Click Add to collection to add it to other collections too.
DETAILS
Price: what customers pay.
Weight (oz): used to estimate shipping.
On hand: how many units you have in stock.
To be fulfilled: how many units have been ordered but not shipped yet.
OPTIONS
If your product comes in more than one option, click Add options and pick Color, Size or Other. Use Other for a custom option name.
Add each option.
If all the options share a price, weight or quantity, check that box and enter the value once.
Click Finish. A table lists each option, where you can edit their individual price, weight and on-hand quantity and turn it on or off with the Active box.
PHOTOS
Click Add photos to upload your product images.
SHIPPING COST
Choose how customers are charged for shipping:
Estimate by weight: Bonfire estimates the shipping cost your buyers pay from the product's weight.
Define manually: You set the exact shipping rate your buyers pay.
CATEGORY
Pick the category that fits your product best. This is used to calculate sales tax.
Fulfilling orders
New orders appear under Orders > Customer orders. Use the Need fulfillment filter to see orders waiting to ship.
Self-fulfilled items are labeled Inventory in the order list view. A buyer’s order can include both self-fulfilled and print-on-demand items. Bonfire prints and ships the on-demand items, and you ship the self-fulfilled ones.

After purchasing a label and shipping the order, click Mark as fulfilled. Once clicked, the order status updates to fulfilled, and the buyer receives a "Your order got shipped" email notification. Optionally, enter a tracking number and a personal note for your customer.
FAQs
Can I sell self-fulfilled and print-on-demand products in the same store?
Yes. Both kinds of products appear together in your store, and customers can buy them in one order.
Why does my product say "Available soon"?
Payments aren't set up yet. Connect your bank account from the Payments page of your dashboard to start taking orders.
Will I get an email when a buyer purchases a self-fulfilled product?
Yes, you will receive an email notification when a purchase is made. You can view and manage these orders by checking your dashboard's Products page under the "Needs fulfillment" status.
What happens when an item goes out of stock?
When a self-fulfilled product's on-hand count hits 0, it automatically shows as out of stock on your store. You can edit the product to add more inventory at any time.
